Summer is over, but we Ullrs are left with wonderful memories: Sommerfest at Orchestra Hall; Science Museum; The History Theater where we saw the play, “Glensheen”; Vikings at the Swedish Institute; and three bike/ potluck parties. Two away bike and golf trips were to Nisswa and Lanesboro. It was a rainy summer, but we still got in a lot of biking. Our twice-a-month picnics were well attended and all had a good time.
Now we look forward to fall and winter. Our winter sports planning party was held in July. We have many local hikes, snowshoe and skiing events planned. We also look forward to the “Jack-0-Lantern Spectacular” at the end of October.
In November, we are seeing the comedy “Ripcord” at the Ives Auditorium in Bloomington. An October moonlight hike in Bloomington with a naturalist guide, promises to be wonderful. The singles continue to have monthly game nights, lunch dates and fine dining.
Our western ski trip in March 2020 will be to Big Sky, Montana. See ad on the MSC website.
Next May, the Ullr Ski Bike and Social Club celebrate 70 years! The committee is busy organizing this special event.
We would like to have you join us. Check out our web site for a full schedule of events and times, at www.ullr.org. We meet at the Bloomington Event Center on American Blvd. starting October 3rd. Our speaker will be a member of Shockwave Adaptive Ski Squad. Should be very interesting. Come join us and learn all about it. All are welcome to attend. Other meeting dates this season are November 14th, January 16th, February 13th, March 12th and April 23rd.
