A fabulous fun summer with the Tuesday Wipeouts has already begun! We have lots of fun events coming up, and have already enjoyed several!
We had a lovely Spring Luncheon on May 14th at Jax Cafe. After our social time and meal we were treated to an informative presentation about raising bees for honey!
Theodore Wirth Park was the site of a picnic lunch and a choice of two hikes on May 21st. After the picnic, one hike was led by 2 naturalists through the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden, the other hike was lead through the forest trails by Karen Felton.
Rain kept the number of bikers smaller than usual on June 11th as we set off for a ride from Kay and Sandra’s home in Minneapolis. I heard about bikers riding to and around Theodore Wirth Park, some in the local neighborhoods, and my group circled Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska before returning for potluck lunch. Many more TWOs showed up in time to share lunch and visit! Deirdre invited us over to her home on June 25th for another bike ride, lunch and beach time, fun!
Coming up are:
- an exciting kayak trip down the Kinnickinnic River on July 9th.
- day of canoeing on the St. Croix River on August 13th. 3) our annual trip to Cedar Valley Resort near Whalen MN to bike the beautiful Lanesboro area trails September 9-11. 4) another bike ride and lunch in Stillwater, including biking over the new bridge.
To those of you who are not TWOs, we are a women’s ski club with activities all year long. Biking, hiking and canoeing lead our summer activities. We love welcoming new members and making new friends! Check us out on the MSC website: www.tuesdaywipeouts.com
