July 4th Bike Ride
Tour D’Amico – 20th Year
What better way to celebrate Independence Day on the 4th of July than with a morning bike ride co-sponsored by the Hiawatha Bicycling Club (HBC) and D’Amico & Sons restaurant? This will be the 20th year for the ride and it is a community event with riders of all abilities participating from serious riders to those who enjoy a 21-mile cruise. Kids ride and eat free, so it is an ideal family event for parents, grandparents or both. There are four distance options from 21 miles to 62 miles.
D’Amico and Sons puts on tasty feast for this event with a sampling of D’Amico snacks along the way and a wonderful banquet at the end.
The starting location for the event is the Golden Valley Shopping Center, (Hwy 55 & Winnetka Ave) in front of D’Amico & Sons Restaurant. The routes are very scenic, rolling through the countryside of the western suburbs. Routes are marked with signs and street markings. HBC provides ride marshals who ride the course and provide assistance to anyone needing help. Multiple rest stops are available on each route, providing tasty treats and refreshments from D’Amico’s and shady areas for well-deserved breaks. After your ride, refuel and relax in an open-air garden atmosphere with friends and family, while enjoying a lunch provided by D’Amico & Sons. The delicious picnic buffet lunch includes freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, dessert bars and beverages.
This wonderful ride and lunch makes the Tour D’Amico a unique experience to start your 4th of July celebrations.
