Reflecting on the past winter, what more can a ski club want, but a ton of snow?? The Ullrs skied locally at both Welch Village and Afton Alps and there was great snow at both places.
The Ullrs went to Whitefish, Montana for their western trip. As of the date I am writing this, Whitefish Ski Resort had over 200 inches of snow. The trip started out with boarding the plane and then unboarding the plane. A strut needed air, (whatever a strut is). Got to Kalispell, Montana; unfortunately our skis did not. They did arrive the next morning so we still could ski. But the weather was so cold that the lift to the summit was closed. The weather got warmer and on the last day, the mountain received seven inches of the driest powdery snow I have ever skied in. The Ullrs also got some snowshoeing in this year with the deep snow.
March 10th was the bike planning party for the upcoming bike season. The Ullrs bike most every Thursday at Lynnhurst field parking lot at 1500 West 50th Street. There are additional bike rides scheduled during the summer.
Summer picnics start in June at Brookview Park in Golden Valley. The following are the dates of the picnics: June 5th and 19th, July 10th and 24th, August 7th and 21st, and September 4th.
Ullrs also have social events and activities for singles. For all Ullr activities, check out our web site at www.ullr.org.
