As we leave summer and fall behind, we recall fond memories of the many warm outdoor activities we have shared: tubing down the Root River, biking the Root River bike trail, experiencing a recumbent bicycle for the first time (yes, they have brakes that need to be disengaged before taking off!), and our annual Farewell Summer camping weekend with our famous tie-dye activity. We also enjoyed lawn games, including ladder golf, bean bag toss, washers and Kubb. The competition was fierce, as there were prizes waiting for the winners!
On October 18th, the Traverski Ski, Sport and Social Club celebrated their annual membership party. The evening was filled with both returning and new members. All who attended were given tickets for a chance to win door prizes donated by Tyrol Ski and Sports, Bicycle Sports, Lowes, and Traverski members. One very lucky member won a pair of Yukon snowshoes from Scheels by participating in a dice game.
Along with our happy hour gatherings, we have enjoyed: movie night where we meet for dinner and decide on which movie(s) we want to see, and then regroup for movie discussions and drinks afterwards. There’s also Goonies Comedy Club, birthday celebrations and the list goes on.
Coming up this winter… lots of skiing… Welch Village, MSC Winter Carnival at Big Snow Resort (which now includes Indianhead and Blackjack ski areas) January 4–6, Spirit Mountain day trip January 26th, and then on to our big trip to Mount Bachelor at Bend, Oregon February 9–16.

Ski Walker Racing
Our meetings are at the Eagles Club, where we meet up on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month. If you are in Rochester and want to say “hi”, stop on by. You can check out our website, traverski.org. We finally have some great snow; let’s ski!
